General Services Administration


The General Services Administration is a service administration that works to provide its various services to all work centers and scientific colleges and to faculty members and students at Kuwait University. These services are represented in providing cleaning services for workers and cleaning equipment for all university sites, colleges and work centers, and providing transportation services for students and various work centers, which include buses and cars. As the buses serve students with special needs from their homes to the university sites and vice versa, it also delivers male and female students between the university sites and also used in the scientific trips organized by the colleges. It also supplies cars to all work centers to distribute mail and other work center needs.

It also books theaters, halls and operates conferences, while providing these theaters and halls with audio and sound equipment, and technicians to operate and maintain these devices in order to hold conferences and events inside and outside the university. Provides calligraphy service for certificates, making signboards and signs in plastic and cloth.

The administration includes five departments: cleaning - transportation - special services - technical equipment - the university club

The University and Hospitality Club has been included according to the organizational structure approved by the Civil Service Bureau in August / 2018, as it provides all sports and entertainment activities for faculty members and university employees.

Tasks and specialization:

Quality in managing and providing public services for all work centers at Kuwait University

Study the needs of all work centers at the university, including the requirements for cleaning, transportation, and audio-visual equipment.

Supervising and coordinating with the competent authorities regarding transportation and cleaning contracts, hospitality vehicle contracts, hotel reservations, audio-visual electronic equipment contracts and estimating their budgets.

Following up the execution by companies of the contracts agreed upon and calculating the violations that may occur therein and applying the same to the violating companies according to the followed procedures.

Supervising on studying and calculating the variation orders that may occur to the contracts and making financial estimations therefore as per the contractual conditions and so as they shall not exceed the legal percentage as per Central Tenders Commission’s law.

Deploying cleaning works and workers as per the established plan and the previous knowledge of different departments and work stations’ needs and receiving reports from them for improving the performance of cleaning service in the University.

Establishing appropriate plans for finding different alternatives in event of the occurrence of a disagreement or strike by the contracted company and the suspension of cleaning works in the university.

Establishing an action plan with a future view for all cleaning works and requirements according to developed bases and methods.

Supervising on moving wastes from all over the University.

Setting appropriate plans to keep pace with the future development and expansion of the university.

Setting various estimates for the university’s needs of cars and the various means of transportation necessary to perform its duties.

Developing an action plan for the transfer of male and female students with special needs from their homes to the university and vice versa. And oversee the implementation of this plan.

Developing a plan for the maintenance of transportation and following up on its implementation on the specified dates

Providing transportation to university centers and following up their movement.

Carrying out the artistic production of some certificates, copper plates, paper banners and cloth for various events.

Equipping the halls and theaters of the General Services Department to hold events, lectures and conferences in them, while allowing all work centers and external bodies to reserve these halls and theaters according to a detailed work plan drawn up by the administration.

Providing audiovisual equipment and supervising its operation in the halls by the administration technicians.

The University Club is a newly added section for the administration of public services, as it provides halls, sports equipment and a swimming pool under the supervision of the club's trainers, as it provides a range of sporting and entertainment activities for faculty members, university employees and their families.

The General Services Administration provides a service for receiving new faculty members, housing them, and conducting their transactions from civil ID and fingerprints for them and their families.

Supervising and organizing the administration of conferences held at the university, receiving university guests and providing hotels for them.
